Someone on a course told me about their Financial Director who says he only replies to emails if the person chases a second time, so he knows it’s really important.
What an arrogant time-wasting selfish annoying idiot!
How DARE he put his stupid rules onto everyone else in the company, force everyone else to waste their time playing his stupid game, having to email him twice in order to get an answer. So we all do more work in order to get back to where we started – email and get a reply. And anyone who does’t know about his game sends just one email and then wonders why they don’t get a reply.
He is clearly a …. (can’t use the words here).
But….
if you sometimes find yourself saying “I’ll leave that one and see if he chases me” you’re kind of like the selfish FD aren’t you? Almost worse because you’re doing it occasionally and nobody knows what the rules are. Are you doing it or not?
So I think if you say yes to something then you MUST do it, and if you receive an email asking for something then you MUST reply with either a yes or a no.
Just saying!
onwards and upwards…..
