LiL has the best selection of courses in the world. Udemy has more, and you can buy them one at a time, but they aren’t quality controlled so there’s quite a bit of sifting required.
LiL is a great curated library of everything – but you have to pay £25/month to get access to everything. Although that’s a bargain if you are going to use it a lot.

But what if you just want a quick look at one course: how can you view it without signing up to the regular monthly subscription? Here are some ideas:
- 28 day free trial – you can view a lot of courses in 27 days! …and then cancel (of maybe stay in if it’s great). You get everything except for the Certificate of Attendance when you’re on the free trial.
- Check with HR – they might already have a log-in. Often companies pay for one or two licences, and you can log in and use them.
- Nag HR/training to get a license if they don’t already have one. Surely it would be money well spent by the company??
- Get, or use your Linkedin Premium – this comes with an unlimited amount of linkedin learning as part of the package. Many people who have Linkedin Premium don’t realise this! In fact it might be worth upgrading your linkedin to Premium JUST to get the learning added.
- Some public libraries have access to linkedin learning – you can just log in there and watch a course.
- People who have Linkedin Learning can make courses free for 24 hours, so there will be a link on their linkedin feed where you can click and watch the course. There is a limit to how many freebies they can create, but they are free to make, so you can always ask them for one.
- Finally, you could consider signing up. After all, your own self development is the most important investment you can make. Imagine how much you could save by learning about negotiating, or the value of getting that high powered job or that big contract because you learned about influencing or presentation skills….
