I was talking to the Head of Communcations for the Aster Group today, and she said that they are planning to upgrade their website (I already think it’s good, but anyway…) and they had three companies in to pitch for the job.
Two of them were using the Agile project management methodology, (if you call making it up as you go along a ‘methodology’) and she rejected them both because they were unable to promise either a delivery date or a delivery cost. “As soon as we drilled into their plans we found that they didn’t have any”. I love it!
Meanwhile the third company were using APM, as in proper project management with a Gantt chart, and sure enough they had it all planned out, with costs and dates all there, …and they got the job.
Enough said!
